The First Navy Ensign, designed by Commodore Hawkins and approved by interim president Burnet twelve days before the Battle of San Jacinto, made its debut on the Invincible cruising off the coast of Mexico in the summer of 1836.

We've fashioned the single white star on a blue canton, with seven red stripes and six white stripes, into an enameled lapel pin. Red, white and blue enamel over a chrome finish with standard butterfly clutch closure. Measures 7/8" x 5/8".

At first glance, folks might think it's the American flag fixed your lapel but the lone star of the Republic may give them pause. That's your cue to tell them about the Texian Navies!
