BB-35, a.k.a. Battleship Texas, achieved many firsts in her storied career and more after her career officially ended. In 1948, she became the first battleship memorial museum in the United States. The same year, the U.S.S. Texas was presented to the State of Texas and was dedicated as the “Flagship of the Texas Navy”.
